BUSES GO GREEN 19 March 2010 (Xinhua) - More than 40% Hong Kong’s
current fleet of buses will be retired by 2015. The replacement scheme
is part a broader plan to reduce bus emissions, which includes bus route
rationalisation, establishing low emission zones, and fitting catalytic
reduction devices to existing buses to reduce their emissions. The
maximum age for buses operated in Hong Kong is 18 years, the report
added.

DUBAI TO DEVELOP PEDESTRIAN
BRIDGES 23 March 2010 (Gulf News)- Dubai will have more than 100
pedestrian bridges within the next two years. The move is part of a
safety plan launched by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA),
which aims to increase pedestrian traffic by 20% by 2012. In 2007, Dubai
had only 16 pedestrian bridges, increasing to 40 by the end of 2009,
including the bridges linked to the Dubai Metro stations.
