 CATHAY PACIFIC Feb. 23, 2010 (China Knowledge) - Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd, the flagship carrier of Hong Kong, has obtained government approval to raise passenger fuel surcharges for March by 8%, said the SAR's Civil Aviation Department. In March, Cathay Pacific will levy an HK$84 surcharge for short-haul flights, up from the current HK$78, and will levy an HK$390 for long-haul trips.
CONTINENTAL AIRLINES 4 March 2010 - Beginning 17 March 2010, Continental Airlines will offer customers the option of purchasing, at check in, premium seat assignments for unreserved economy-class seats that feature extra legroom. Continental’s OnePass Elite frequent flyer members and their travelling companions will be able to continue to assign themselves seats with extra legroom in economy class without charge. Depending on the type of aircraft and row, seats with extra legroom provide customers with a minimum of seven additional inches of leg space. Customers will be able to purchase these seats at continental.com or at the airport kiosk during the normal check-in period, beginning at 24 hours prior to departure of the first flight in an itinerary. Pricing for the premium seats will vary depending on a number of factors, including the length of the flight and market.
VIVA MACAU AIRLINES 2 March 2010 - Viva Macau Airlines is waiving bag-check fees for all flights across its entire network effective March 1. Passengers travelling on Viva Macau Airlines now enjoy 15 kilograms of checked-in luggage, plus 7 kilograms of cabin baggage allowance, at zero cost. Viva Macau Airlines currently flies direct from Macau to Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Jakarta, Sydney and Melbourne.
AIR FRANCE KLM 4 March 2010 – For the summer schedule, KLM will continue to serve seven weekly flights to Hong Kong.
