19 February 2010 - Avis Europe has joined China Airlines’ Dynasty Flyer programme allowing Dynasty Flyer members to earn 500 Miles each time they rent a car with Avis. To celebrate the new partnership, all Dynasty Flyer members who rent a car with Avis from now to 31 March 2010 will be automatically entered into a prize draw and 10 lucky winners will be randomly drawn to receive 10,000 free Dynasty Flyer miles. Dynasty Flyer members will also be able to earn Double miles for 3 to 6 day Avis rentals and Triple miles for 7 days or more Avis rentals before 31 March 2010. In Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, Dynasty Flyer members will also enjoy up to 25% off Avis standard rates on all rentals in the up to 30th April 2010.

1 March 2010 - Miles & More has a new partner: From 1 March, members of the Lufthansa frequent flyer programme can earn and redeem mile credits at popular designer outlets, like Wertheim Village, Ingolstadt Village and Maasmechelen Village (Belgium). One mile will be credited to a customer's account for every euro they spend on a designer brand at one of these village outlets. Miles & More members can also exchange mile credits for a village shopping voucher at the rate of one euro for every 330 miles. The designer brand outlets are nearby big cities and offer in almost 300 boutiques collections from prestigious, up-market labels at attractive prices.
Additionally, Miles & More is expanding its partnership with the Avis car rental company. Again from 1 March, Miles & More members can rent a car from Avis, worldwide, with their award miles. Not just that - there is also no time limit now. Car rentals for miles were previously restricted to selected countries and only when a car was hired for a weekend or a week. Besides more flexibility when redeeming mileage for a rental, the booking process has also been simplified. Members redeeming miles to rent a car at Avis merely enter their customer number and PIN on the www.miles-and-more.avis.de website. The charge for the required rental is then shown in miles. Once a customer confirms a booking, the mileage shown is automatically deducted from their mile-credit account. In a promotion with Miles & More up to year-end 2010, Avis is also offering customers more bonus miles each time they rent, allowing them to earn up to 3,000 award miles per rental, the more often they rent.

NEW EXPRESSWAY TO CONNECT KL
2 March 2010 - Construction on a major new highway has begun in Malaysia, the New Straits Times has reported. The 33km-long Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway project, set to open in June next year, will cost MYR1 billion (US$290 million), will cut travelling time between KL to Kuala Selangor to just 30 minutes, from two hours currently, the report stated.
DUBAI
22 February 2010 - Seven of the remaining 18 stations on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro will be opened by 25 April 2010, the Gulf News has reported. The opening of Emirates Station, Airport Terminal 1 Station. GGICO Station (Al Garhoud), Al Karama Station, World Trade Centre Station, Marina Station and Ibn Battuta Station, will add to the existing 11 operational stops. It was also reported that the Green Line will become operational in August 2011.
